AFMO Annual Benefit Weekend
in celebration of the Musée d’Orsay and Musée de l’Orangerie
A Weekend in Paris
Thursday, October 17 thru
Sunday, October 20, 2024
The 2024 annual benefit weekend and gala evening marked the end of the 150th anniversary of Impressionism celebrations, drawing a crowd of art collectors and art amateurs with 100 weekend guests and 220 gala guests.
Hosted in support of the Musee d’Orsay and Musée de l’Orangerie, the weekend highlights included unique private access to the highly successful seasonal exhibitions: Caillebotte. Painting men and Harriet Backer (1845-1932). The music of color (Musée d’Orsay); Heinz Berggruen. A dealer and his collection (Musée de l’Orangerie); Participants chose from a diverse progarm of private conversations, experiences, and visits which celebrated fine art, creation, savoir-faire, and heritage.
The weekend opened with an intimate cocktail and private viewing at the Musée de l’Orangerie, followed the next day by a private lunch at the château de Bagatelle and an evening cocktail at the Residence of the US Ambassador. It culminated with a beautiful gala at the Musée d’Orsay inspired by the Gustave Caillebotte’s white canvas and palette. White and mirrored tables created a play on light and color, which was further accented by the monochromatic dishes created by Alain Ducasse and his team.
