Provenance and MNR: supporting research
AFMO has committed to supporting provenance research at the Musée d’Orsay for the next five-years.
The 2025 year-end appeal campaign will focus on the provenance program at the Orsay, including the French national MNR project seeking to identify the provenance and restitute works looted by the Nazis between 1933 and 1945. Of the 60,000 artworks and objects recovered by the Allied forces at the end of WW2, about 1,700 haven’t been identified or claimed yet, including 224 currently stored and preserved at the Musée d’Orsay.

Museum Projects: contributing to the present and future of both museums
All year long, AFMO accompanies and supports the Orsay and Orangerie Museums in their projects, from art and educational projects to newly refurbished welcome spaces.

Patron Pass Tours: sharing insightful art moments
Raising awareness is at the heart of AFMO’s mission. To share and enhance unique art moments with its patrons, the foundation hosts members-only events every month (from September to July), such as private tours of exhibitions at the Orsay and the Orangerie and offsite visits in Paris and in the U.S.
-
Seasonal Events: celebrating the two museums
AFMO hosts seasonal “rendez-vous” to discover and enjoy art, heritage and art de vivre at its best. These events by invitation only are open to members, patrons and guests. They participate in AFMO’s fundraising efforts on behalf of the Musée d’Orsay and Musée de l’Orangerie.
