Spring-Summer 2024, the Impressionist Season

True to the enthusiasm of American collectors who have played a major role in the success of the Impressionist movement since its inception, American Friends Musées d’Orsay et de l’Orangerie will celebrate the 150th anniversary of Impressionism.
Throughout spring and early summer 2024, AFMO will present a series of Impressionist-focused events in support of Paris 1874. Inventing Impressionism.
In addition to special access to the celebratory exhibition Paris 1874. Inventing Impressionism at the Musée d’Orsay, AFMO members will partake in an exclusive Impressionist season.
The May 4, 2024 private evening at the Musée d’Orsay will be one of the highlights of the Impressionist season. This fundraising evening will open with a cocktail and viewing of the Paris 1874. Inventing Impressionism exhibition, followed by a dinner in the magical setting of the Orsay’s former ballroom overlooking the Seine and the Tuileries gardens.

Raising awareness is a key part of AFMO’s mission statement, and it will be at the heart of the Spring 2024 Impressionist season.
We will host a series of events on both sides of the ocean throughout the season and into the Fall to highlight not only the history and story of Impressionism, its historical context and its groundbreaking influence on fine art a century and a half later:
private tours of the Paris 1874 exhibition and permanent collection at Musée d’Orsay
offsite tours to museums and art galleries
day trips to destinations linked to the history of Impressionism (Paris region and Normandy, mainly)
6-day trip to Normandy (SOLD OUT)
private evenings at the Musée d’Orsay (May 4 and June 12, 2024)

In the footsteps of the Impressionists, a trip to Normandy
To celebrate this anniversary, AFMO will hold a curated trip to Normandy in the coming spring.
The 6-day trip will open with an exclusive evening at the Musée d’Orsay on May 4, comprising a private visit of the Paris 1874. Inventing Impressionism exhibit followed by a private cocktail and dinner. The next day, we will head to Normandy and follow the Impressionist road, along the Norman coast from Honfleur to Etretat and Deauville.
2024 marks also the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the landing of the Allied forces on the Normandy beaches, and we will continue our travels westward with an exclusive tour of the landing beaches before heading back to Paris.
