Spring Day Trips: Giverny, Le Havre, and Rouen
In June, AFMO is hosting three day-trips to Normandy in the footsteps of the Impressionists:
Giverny on Tuesday, June 11, 2024
Le Havre on Thursday, June 13, 2024
Jumièges and Rouen on Friday June 14, 2024
Each destination along the river Seine will help highlight how Normandy was at the heart of the Impressionist movement. They will celebrate not only the artists and their artworks but the Norman light and landscapes that inspired them.
Each itinerary will be give our guests the opportunity to discover beautiful landmarks and museums, including special exhibitions:
in Giverny: Impressionism and the sea
in Le Havre: Photographier en Normandie (1840-1890)
in Rouen: David Hockney Normandism andWhistler, The Butterfly Effect
in Jumièges: Clouds Theory by Laurent Grasso
Such trips are at the heart of AFMO’s mission to raise awareness with unique programs and projects that will highlight the wealth of the Orsay and Orangerie collections and exhibitions. They also help understand how the late 19th century and early 20th century have been instrumental in shaping today’s art market.
The day-trips are open to AFMO patrons and guests:
AFMO members: $300 per person and per trip
Non-members: $400 per person and per trip
